Unaccompanied minors
General conditions
Thai Airways accepts children between 5-11 years old (having their 5th but not their 12th birthday) for unaccompanied transportation under the following conditions:
- Travel shall be permitted for immediate continuous space and all segment of which have been confirmed
- Children under 5 years old and infants are not accepted to travel unaccompanied unless they are accompanied by a person aged 12 years or more (who does not require special services)
- Night stopover with STPC service or by own expenses is not permitted
- When the transfer occurs between Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport and Don Mueng Airport or v.v. an escort person must be provided by the parent in order to accompany child to recheck-in for final destination. Otherwise the service is not permitted
- Unaccompanied minor is not allowed to travel on any types of discounted tickets. However ROP award, other airline award and barter ticket are accepted to apply this service. • Special regulations are applied fro minors traveling to Philippines
- A child who is mentally retarded is unable to apply unaccompanied minor service
- An unaccompanied minor is not allowed to travel with pets
- If a trip involves travel on other carriers other regulations may apply, and especially age limit for children
Reservation and charges
Request for unaccompanied service has to be made not later than 72 hours before departure.
100 % of any applicable adult market fare (any available normal or promotional fare) applies for unaccompanied child.
For international flights handling fee is equal to 60 USD (domestic flights within Thailand are exempted).
Handling form with escort on departure and arrival details has to be fulfilled and signed by parent or guardian at the time of ticketing and attached to the ticket. An escort on arrival and departure is required to show an identification card.
Special badge will be visibly fixed on child t-short and provided with special wallet with passport, ticket and handling form.
