Animal transportation
Thai Airways will transport your animals only in the cargo compartment of the aircraft depending on their weight and size. Please note that the valid import and export by-laws of the respective countries have to be observed.
Passenger is responsible for all required documents for entry, health and/or transfer at countries of destination and transit.
Passenger also must provide transported animal with sufficient food and water as feeding during transit/transfer may be not possible.
Animal transportation in aircraft hold
Conditions of acceptance
Thai Airways will accept animals for carriage in the aircraft hold on the same flight as the passenger if such animal does not qualify for carriage in the passenger cabin e.g. too large or of unusual nature.
The following types of animals are prohibited from being carried as checked baggage on Thai Airways flights:
- Rodents (except rabbits) e.g. laboratory rats and mice and others.
- Reptiles e.g. snakes, iguana species etc.
- Odorous animals e.g. skunks, minks, soft-shelled turtles.
- Pregnant animals.
- Sick or injured animals.
- Birds and poultry.
- To comply with the notice of the Department of Livestock Development in Thailand, following animals are not permitted to be transported into Thailand: Pitbull Terrier or American Staffordshire Terrier.
Charge:
Normal excess baggage fee applies and can be paid at check-in desk.
